01 What is in the table
The 159 missions you can actually reach, by kind:
63 Patrol, 49 Sortie, 24 Story, 21 Mining, 2 Tutorial. The game data holds more than
these, but a mission waiting on a ship level the game has not released yet is dropped here, the same way its system
is dropped from the map. Tutorials are kept out of the table until you ask for them: they run once, at the very
start, and you are unlikely to be looking for them. A mission whose availability window has already closed is gone
too, and one has: it was open for a single day in 2015 and the game still carries it.
02 What the reward columns say
XP, MINERAL, GAS and BUX are the four numbers the game publishes for a mission, each in its own column so they
can be compared and sorted. ITEMS holds what is handed over as a thing rather than a number, shown with the same
sprites the item pages use; four missions give a room instead. Only 122 of the 159
listed describe a reward at all. The rest show dashes across the row, and that silence is the game's: the data
simply does not say what they pay, so neither do we.
03 Ship level and tries
SHIP LVL is a suggestion, not a gate. The game sets it on 70 of them, between 1 and 10,
and you can fly a mission below or above it; what actually blocks a mission is in the last column. TRIES is how
many times a mission can be run in one day. It is worth reading only outside mining: every Mining Operation sits at
10, which a single drone can never reach in 24 hours, while a patrol at 1 is a real limit on what a day can give
you.
04 What opens a mission
UNLOCK is the condition the game attaches to the mission, written in words. Most of them wait for another
mission to be finished (98 of them), the next largest group waits for a ship level
(34), and the rest want a faction or a room. Where a mission waits for another, its name is a
link to that mission's card, so a chain can be walked backwards to the one that starts it. A condition the game
writes in a form we cannot read is printed as it stands rather than hidden: saying nothing about why a mission is
closed is worse than showing the raw line.
